The Ekofisk field
Nine platforms on the Ekofisk field have been removed and converted into new raw materials for use in new production.
About the project
When the commission to remove nine platforms on the Ekofisk field was awarded, it was the largest removal project of offshore installations in the North Sea and the largest individual contract AF had ever been awarded.

The assignment comprised planning, dismantling and recycling a total of 140,000 tonnes of steel structures. This was the third removal contract AF carried out offshore.
AF was prequalified for offshore assignments in 2002 based on the method it uses for onshore demolition of industrial plants. In 2004, AF was commissioned by ConocoPhillips to dismantle the steel structure on Ekofisk 2/4 T.
AF collaborated with Heerema on the removal and recycling of bridges, tripods, flare towers and modules on Ekofisk.
