AF Environmental Base Vats comprises 68,000 m2 (730,000 sq ft) processing area; concrete surface with membrane and drainage systems underneath
The dense concrete surface is constructed to sustain high impact
Any surface rain or process fluid on the dense cover is collected and transported to a treatment plant with round the clock monitoring, where the fluids are cleaned before outlet to sea
182 meters (590 ft) of quay front, with 23 meters water depth at quay front. An additional two quays are suitable for larger vessels and barges
The deep and well-protected harbour permits unloading of all types of lift vessels. Access to open sea is unlimited
The harbour is approved in accordance with ISPS regulations, and the entire base is hence fenced and is monitored by CCTV
AF Environmental Base Vats has all the facilities and equipment to complete a successful project, including yard, new machinery, warehouses, service facilities, administration facilities, cafeteria, accommodation etc.
The highly qualified staff has experience from challenging demolition projects
The demolition facilities were established 2005 on an industrial site that was formerly the construction site of a number of Norwegian oil platforms
The facilities were expanded during 2008–2009 to accommodate increasing demand
