Environmentally friendly success
- The geothermal heat solution has proved to be a success since it was established in 2002. The solution was strengthened further with the new Nydalen Energy Plant, which extracts substantial amounts of energy through energy exchange towards the Akerselva River. The new plant has the capacity to supply all the buildings in the area – in an environmentally friendly way.
- Using energy stores in bedrock, surplus heat can be pumped into the energy store in the summer and then drawn out in the winter. 180 wells have been drilled 200 metres into bedrock, so the energy store in all consists of 2 000 000 m3 of bedrock.
