Cost effecient cooling system
At Flesland's new terminal, T3, passengers will experience heating and cooling systems from AF Energi. The new terminal, covering 63,000 square meters, opened in 2017 and has a capacity of up to 10 million passengers per year.
AF's delivery includes cooling production, heat recovery, thermal cooling energy storage, and the distribution network for the new terminal. The system is partially prefabricated in modules and assembled on-site to maintain quality during production and delivery.
The prefabricated solution reduces costs, time, and space for the client. Costs are lowered because prefabrication reduces on-site work. Time is saved as the technical room can be prepared concurrently with module construction. A prefabricated central unit also requires less space compared to an on-site build.
Additionally, AF Energi is providing thermal cooling storage to T3. Four large tanks contain thousands of small freezing elements. These elements have a freezing point of 13-14 degrees Celsius, allowing the water passing through the tanks to cool large areas during hot summer days.
We've saved the client costs, time, and space. We'll appreciate this every time we arrive.
