    About the project

    WANG Ung is a sports-oriented lower secondary school and will be located in Hasle in Oslo, where an entire city district is undergoing constant development. The contract includes the building of the complete school and associated outdoor areas. The school is scheduled for completion by the start of the 2018 school year. The client is Hasle Linje 5 AS, which is owned 50/50 by Höegh Eiendom AS and AF Gruppen Norge AS.

    Sporty lower secondary school

    WANG Ung wanted to build a new school for young athletes from the whole of Oslo and chose HasleLinje, with AF Gruppen as the contractor. 

    When completed, the school building will have three storeys with a recessed upper floor. It must be ready for occupancy by the start of the school year in autumn 2018. 

    The building will have 3,000 m2 of floor space and contain, among other things, classrooms, offices, café/eating areas and activity zones. The building will be an L-shape and its architectonic design and visual qualities will frame the square in front of Building 01, the new apartment and retail project in Vinmonopolett's old production premises. 

    The aim is to build a school in which all areas, both inside and outside, will function as learning arenas and inspire activities and team spirit. Resources will be allocated to an outdoor facility that will provide recreational opportunities for all of the area's residents. An amphitheatre and a 'Tuftepark' are planned adjacent to the school. A total of 360 pupils will attend the school each day. 

    HasleLinje is subject to strict environmental requirements and the school building will be environmentally certified in accordance with BREEAM-NOR VERY GOOD. The building was designed by LOF Arkitekter, which also designed Portalbygget, Frontbygget and Allerbygget, which currently house the head offices of COWI, Oslo's Agency for Urban Environment, and Aller Media, respectively. LOF Arkitekter also designed Securitas's new head office, which is under construction and will be completed in March 2018.

    AF Nybygg is proud to have won our first contract for Hasle Linje 5. We look forward to cooperating with Höegh Eiendom and ensuring that WANG ends up with "rough, tough and cool" school.
