About the project
Hoppern School will be a future-oriented school building in timber. The school building will be environmentally certified in accordance with the Breeam-NOR standard "Very Good" and a dedicated solar cell system will be installed in the school and sports hall.

Project Details
The contract encompasses the complete demolition of the existing school and gymnasium, the construction of five timber buildings in parallel to house a lower secondary school and sports hall, and the construction of new outdoor facilities. The school will have capacity for 450 pupils and around 50 staff members. The school and sports hall will have a total gross floor area of approx. 9,900 m2.
Both the school and sports hall will be constructed according to the Passive House standard and will be BREEAM certified at the ‘Very Good’ level. BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environment Assessment Method) a tool for environmentally certified buildings.
A solar system will be delivered for both the school and sports hall, with the positioning and design of this on the school building representing an opportunity to make it part of the architectural expression.
