In September 2022, Avinor and AF Gruppen entered into a collaborative contract for design and construction of the new airport. Rambøll Norge and LPO Arkitekter are advisors in engineering and architectural services.

The total cost of the airport is estimated to MNOK 3300. Before Easter 2023, AF Gruppen signed the contract for the construction works.

«Avinor aims to plan, build and put into operation an airport that meets future needs. Our goal is that the Rana community and Avinor will be proud of the new airport», says Avinor CEO Abraham Foss.
