AF Energi's biggest analysis job to date

– This is our largest analysis job ever. The 59 properties include offices, shopping centers, warehouses, and industrial buildings. We know all building types; the scale is what makes this project unique, says Project Manager Johanna Olsen.

The task is to survey buildings for necessary upgrades to improve their energy labels. The EU directive requires all commercial and public buildings to reach at least energy label E by 2027 and energy label D by 2030.

– We plan to upgrade many of our commercial properties to meet the 2030 requirement ahead of time. Most of these buildings were constructed in the 1970s and 1980s, says Vu Van Tran, Project Manager for Ventilation and Technical Operations at OBOS Eiendom.

The energy label guarantee ensures predictability.

With extensive experience as both consultants and contractors, AF Energi guarantees their advice delivers results. By overseeing the entire project, they ensure familiarity with buildings and provide an energy labeling guarantee.

– An energy labeling guarantee offers clients predictability and assurance that the investment will yield promised results, says Olsen.

Required actions vary for each building but typically include replacing lighting with LEDs, insulating pipes, installing heat pumps, and improving ventilation, enhancing indoor climate.

– Some buildings have grocery stores producing significant energy to maintain refrigerators and freezers. We're exploring ways to use that energy to heat the rest of the building instead of wasting it, Olsen explains.

Energy efficiency support programs

An energy survey provides clients with an overview of the investments needed for a more energy-efficient building. Enova offers grants for such surveys in commercial buildings and for implementing energy measures.

– Norway is transitioning to a low-emission society, requiring emission cuts and innovative energy solutions. Enova's support can help people understand their properties' energy efficiency potential, as OBOS Eiendom is doing, Olsen notes.

AF Energi is well-versed in Enova's support schemes and can assist with both application and implementation.
