The project is underway to establish piling pits for rough hole drilling of rock. In the flood tunnel, PE (polyethylene) water pipes will be laid, making sure that the stormwater and water/glycol will be carried between the museum site and the bay Langviksbukta. Down in the bay, a process plant will be established that regulates the temperature between the seawater from the Oslo Fjord and the water/glycol that is sent up to the museum.

"Together with Statsbygg, we have identified the possibility of combining a flood tunnel with the establishment of seawater energy. This is an innovative and sustainable solution that also helps ensure the safety of the ships. We look forward to continuing the good collaboration with Statsbygg", says Eirik Wraal, EVP of AF Gruppen.

Construction started in February 2023, with completion in the second quarter of 2024.
