The interaction process will take place from the summer of 2021 until the winter of 2022. The implementation phase will start up at the end of August 2021 and continue until the summer of 2024. The project will be carried out as a main contract.

“The new Tøyenbadet will give the population of Oslo a lot of joy. The project has stringent requirements to the environment, choice of materials and seriousness and will be a pioneer project for the Oslo model. We are looking forward to cooperating with Kultur- og idrettsbygg and other parties to provide a good service with modern facilities in the capital,” says CEO of AF Gruppen, Amund Tøftum.

The contract essentially comprises all structural work, including structural shell, façades, roof structures and internal work, groundworks and foundations for the outdoor pool, and significant parts of the landscaping work. The gross area of the building is approx. 15,800 m2, and will include a large multi-purpose hall in addition to the swimming facilities. The building will largely be designed in cast in situ concrete, and have a contiguous glass façade with a height of around 11 metres around most of the building, and a roof structure over pool areas in massive wood hollow beams. In addition to the outdoor pool, the landscaping work includes a large park area.
