Approximately 11 km of tunnel will be drilled by Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and 7 km excavated by drill and blast. In addition, JV AF Ghella shall build clean water basins and a pump station.
Works are scheduled to commence in April 2022 and will be completed in November 2027.
The contract has an approximate value of NOK 8,750 million excl. VAT for the JV and is the biggest contract in AF’s history. AF Gruppen’s share of the JV is 60 %.
“AF Gruppen is very satisfied to enter into this contract for the construction of a new water distribution network together with Ghella. We look forward to a good co-operation with the City of Oslo to ensure safe and secure water supply to the citizens of Oslo. Earlier, AF and Ghella has enjoyed a successful co-operation on parts of the Follo Line project and both parties have extensive experience with tunnel projects,” says Amund Tøftum, CEO of AF Gruppen.
